Master  Tara Cox  - The Luminary behind Legacy Martial Arts!

As the owner, operator, and head instructor of Legacy Martial Arts, Mrs. Cox brings over 40 years of martial arts expertise, dating back to 1980. She's a decorated 9th-degree black belt in the Chuck Norris System, under The United Fighting Arts Federation.

Since earning her black belt in 1991, Mrs. Cox has dedicated over 28 years to running her martial arts school. Her competitive spirit shines through her consistent participation in tournaments and multiple victories in her Kata division between 2008 and 2022.

Honored with the 'Female Competitor of the Year' award in 1998, 'Instructor of the Year' in 2002, and the prestigious Wieland Norris Award in 2011, bestowed by Grand Master Chuck Norris himself,  Mrs. Cox's accomplishments are undeniable. Her school was also recognized as 'School of the Year' in 2006 and again most recently in 2024.

Currently serving as the Director of Operations on the board of The United Fighting Arts Federation, Mrs. Cox balances her martial arts commitments with a vibrant family life, enjoying her time with her husband, children and grand children. She was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2003, cementing her legacy in the martial arts world. 

She believes a strong foundation of self discipline, self-esteem and respect that can be transferred to all the things you love to do – both outside of the dojo and during training!
